Brooke Elizabeth was born on August 20, 2009 at 5:49 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 9.8 oz and was 18.5 inches long. Brooke will be 1 month old on Thursday (2 days from now). It amazes us how fast the time has flown by. Brooke is such a sweet baby and is sleeping 4.5 hours at night (which I hear is great for a newborn).
We had a wonderful delivery experience at Baylor Medical Center of Frisco. The delivery nurse, Elizabeth, was wonderful and so encouraging. We were induced on August 20th and arrived to the hospital at 7 am. I was already having good size contractions before being induced. The labor lasted 8 hours from start to finish. I only pushed for 45 minutes! Ryan and his sister Kristen were in the delivery room with me when Brooke was born.
I love being a mom and am getting used to having little sleep. Daddy is extremely helpful and takes over baby care during the day so I can take a nap. We love being parents!

2 Days to Go
Only 2 days to go until our family grows from 2 to 3! We are scheduled for an induction on Thursday morning at 7:30 am at Baylor Medical Center of Frisco. We are doing everything possible to have her come on her own terms and early: spicy food, walks, swimming, etc.
Kristen and Bryan (my sister-in-law and brother-in-law) are coming to visit Wednesday afternoon from Sacramento. I honestly thought baby Andry would arrive early but I guess she is comfy in my womb!

For now, I am just trying to wrap up work. The nursery is ready and so are we!
We will keep you posted on any updates :-)Wednesday, August 12, 2009
Our "Baby Moon" to Colorado Springs in June
Ryan and I had a wonderful time in Colorado Springs! This was our last trip as a couple before the baby arrives. We spent 3 nights at the Broadmoor Hotel, hiked Seven Falls, and visited the Royal Gorge (via the bridge high above and the train that runs under the Gorge). It was a wonderful trip and so nice to get away for a long weekend.
8 Days to Go
We are counting down the days till her arrival...8 to go!
Ryan is taking a "Daddy Boot Camp" class for men only at the hospital this evening. The class addresses issues including preparation for labor, newborn care, signs of postpartum depression, etc. This is our last class before our baby arrives. We have also taken the following classes over the past several months: Prepared Childbirth (2 days), Breastfeeding (just me), Baby Care, Infant Safety and CPR, and the Car Seat class & check.
The hospital we will be delivering at is Baylor Medical Center of Frisco. Check it out: http://www.bmcf.com/, click on the women's center. The hospital is only 2 years old and looks more like a hotel then a hospital. Some nice benefits include that the spouse is fed 3 meals a day and our last meal at the hospital is steak and lobster!
Last night, I went to Babies R Us with my mom, sister Stacy, and 3 nieces (Delaney, Emily and Alexis) and purchased the remaining items off of my baby registry. We were there for over 2 hours! I am amazed how many things you need and how many choices there are for baby...it can be overwhelming. I think we are set now with diapers, wipes, and all of the necessities!
Baby Andry is frequently moving and I am starting to feel more contractions (Braxton Hicks that do not hurt). I probably got a total of 5 hours of sleep last night tossing and turning and trying to get comfy with my big belly.

9 Days to Go until Baby Andry arrives
We are so excited for Baby Girl Andry to arrive in 9 days or less! We still do not have a name picked out but plan on naming her once we meet her since our list of names is short.
The nursery is ready and the baby clothes are washed. Our family and friends have been so generous in helping us prepare for her arrival! This little girl already has a full wardrobe of clothes and is not even born.
Mommy's belly is growing and starting to become uncomfortable when it comes to getting up, down, and sleeping. I can't remember the last time I slept through the night! Whether it's potty breaks or the dogs waking us up, I get up every 3-4 hours.
